FINISH ABROAD: A Month in Medieval Italy to Transform Your Work & Your Life

Live in a medieval town between Rome and Tuscany—a place I once called home and can’t wait to share with you. Let the place shift something in you. Return with a finished project, fresh clarity and creative energy you haven’t felt in years.

October 3-31, 2026

Save $1,500 Until April 6

A month in medieval Italy sounds like a dream...

But can you really justify a full month away when you’re running a business?

You can when you return with a finished project—and your business keeps running the whole time.

Finish Abroad combines the transformative experience of living abroad for a month with the structure and support to complete a meaningful project—without missing a beat in your business.

What Makes Finish Abroad Different

Finish Abroad isn’t a coworking trip, where it’s your choice to work on whatever, whenever or nothing at all. It’s also not a typical business retreat, with 5-7 days of intensive work, then back to regular life. Nor is it a mastermind getaway, with networking and planning, but no time to implement.

Finish Abroad is an entirely new model: a full month of slow, immersive travel in one beautiful place, combined with a proven finishing framework and expert support.

You get the creative expansion and perspective shift that only comes from living somewhere beautiful for a full month—combined with the structure and accountability to actually finish a meaningful project that moves your business forward.

That’s the magic: place + framework = breakthrough.

3 Ways Finish Abroad Changes You

Slow Travel

A Month to Truly Inhabit a Stunning Place

A beautiful, ancient location isn’t passive scenery—it’s a catalyst. When you step away from your routine for a full month while working on something meaningful with support and structure, creative blocks that felt immovable at home begin to shift.

You’re not visiting. You’re inhabiting. And that unlocks creativity in ways a weekend trip or a multi-city tour never could. Alive with inspiration, your mind opens. Ideas flow, patterns break and possibilities emerge that you couldn’t see before.

The beauty and slower pace create spaciousness—room to think beyond your usual constraints. The framework creates momentum. Together, they create breakthrough.

Business Breakthrough

A Finished Project or Asset that Drives Growth

From this renewed, expanded place, you finish a project that’s meaningful to your business.

Not because someone forced you, but because the creative expansion and fresh perspective you gained from living and working abroad flow directly into your work.

The project you finish isn’t just a checkmark. It’s strategic—a tangible asset. The book that establishes your authority. The course that creates recurring revenue. The offer that positions you differently. The content system that makes you visible.

Whatever project you choose, you’ll leave with it done. Or, as they say in Italy, “Finito!”

Coaching+Community

You Don't Finish Alone—and You Don't Explore Alone Either

You’ll have 1:1 coaching and review from me when you need it, weekly masterminds where you receive feedback from multiple perspectives, designated coworking hours to maintain momentum and accountability partnerships to keep you moving forward.

But the magic also happens over dinner at a local trattoria, during spontaneous conversations wandering cobblestone streets and on curated expeditions through ancient sites—where peers become the friends who help you see it differently (and very possibly, friends for life).

You’ll experience what’s possible when you give yourself the gift of place, time, space and community.

The Finishing Framework that Makes It Possible

Finish Abroad builds on my proven Finish Line methodology.

Before you arrive, we’ll map out your project week by week so you know exactly what you’re doing and what “done” looks like. We scope realistically during your pre-trip call to ensure your project fits the timeframe and aligns with your business strategy.

Then you use the structured deep work time three afternoons a week, weekly masterminds for feedback and troubleshooting, 1:1 coaching when you need it and accountability from working alongside committed peers—to finish that project!

It’s a metholodogy that works. Here’s just some of what participants in a recent cohort were able to finish:

☑️   Completed book manuscript

☑️   Practice-based leadership cohort program

☑️   Entire year-long curriculum with scripts/workbooks for 3 organizational levels

☑️   First-ever online course from scratch—including video creation, platform setup, sales page

☑️   Templated book promotion system with sales funnel and platform migration

☑️   Substack writing platform with archived articles and editorial calendar for going forward

In our most recent cohort of 10 participants, 9 completed their projects completely while the tenth made significant progress (70% complete) and finished within 3 weeks of the cohort ending.

These weren’t people who had nothing but time. They were running businesses, managing clients, navigating life circumstances. The framework worked.

On Finishing, In Their Own Words

Sitting on this for 6 months

I completed my book manuscript after it sat untouched since July. What changed was having my bum in the seat with something very specific to work on. The fact that others were here and that there was some expectation really helped me through the parts where self-doubt would have let me off the hook.

Eszter Molnar-Mills, Organizational Development Consultant

Overcame 7-8 years of resistance

For 7-8 years, I’ve wanted to leverage my time, and every year it was on my to-do list: “This is the year…” I felt so much resistance that it never happened. Through conversations with Linda and AI, I figured out a way to transfer how I teach sailing to my coaching business, and then I created a program that’s perfect for me.

Berry Kruijning, Leadership Coach

Positive peer pressure helped

I started with nothing. I not only created my course modules, I also learned to make videos, got into a whole new course platform system and created my sales page. Just from being here and being exposed to this whole group of wonderful people. Everyone was making progress, and it just inspired me to do the same. That’s positive peer pressure!

Why Viterbo (and Why I'm Your Guide)

I’m Linda Claire Puig, and I created Finish Abroad because nothing like it existed—a month-long experience that combines the catalytic power of slow travel with the structure to actually finish meaningful work.

As soon as the idea came to me, I knew there was only one place it could be: Viterbo, Italy. It’s a small medieval town about 90 minutes north of Rome, nestled between the capital and Tuscany. I lived there for 6 months in 2011-2012, and it changed my business—and my life.

I wasn’t there as a tourist checking boxes. I was living—shopping at the morning markets, sitting with locals in the ancient thermal waters, discovering hidden piazzas that never make guidebooks.

Viterbo isn’t a big tourist destination, though it should be. Its medieval center, where we’ll be living, is gorgeous. But you won’t find Instagram hordes or performative travel. It’s a lived-in, working Italian town where you can wander freely and let the place work its quiet magic on your creativity.

Why I’m uniquely positioned to guide this experience:

I’ve spent years helping solo business owners, creatives and professionals complete projects they’ve been putting off. In The Finish, I’ve built a framework that works.

I also co-founded Adventurous Life, where for 8 years I created month-long international experiences that brought together entrepreneurs and creatives in beautiful locations worldwide. I know what it takes to build genuine community among travelers and help people truly inhabit a place instead of just visiting.

Finish Abroad brings together everything I’ve learned about finishing, facilitation and meaningful travel—especially in Viterbo, where I developed a deep love for the town and region.

I’ll be with you for the full month—facilitating sessions, leading masterminds, reviewing your work as needed, guiding expeditions to and through places I know intimately, and providing the support you need to finish what matters.

This isn’t just a trip I’m hosting. It’s a place I’m sharing with you—a place that changed me and can change you, too.

How You'll Spend Your Days in Viterbo

Mornings & Weekends

Yours to explore, rest and discover. Because of the time difference (Italy is 6-9 hours ahead of North America), your mornings happen while home is still asleep, giving you true freedom to immerse without client demands.

Wander to the local market for fresh fruit and cheese. Sit in a quiet piazza with your cappuccino and journal. Walk the medieval walls. Discover a hidden fountain or garden. Let yourself get pleasantly lost in cobblestone streets.

Weekends? Perhaps a day trip to Rome (90 minutes), Orvieto’s cathedral or Lake Bolsena. Luxuriate in Viterbo’s famous thermal baths. Attend regional autumn food festivals dedicated to chestnuts, wine, truffles or wild boar.

Monday-Wednesday Afternoons (3-5 pm Italy time)

Structured deep work sessions dedicated to finishing your project. This timing means you’re working before most client meetings would start back home, allowing you to make real strides on your project before your business day begins. Make tangible progress. Feel the momentum build. I’ll be available to you the whole time so you don’t get stuck.

Thursday Afternoons (2-5pm)

Weekly in-person masterminds in a dedicated meeting space. Troubleshoot what’s blocking you, celebrate your progress and tap into the collective wisdom of experienced business owners and creatives who understand what you’re navigating. These 3-hour sessions often become the turning point where stuck projects unlock—not just from my facilitation, but also from the insight of peers who see your work with fresh eyes. Hearty snacks and drinks provided.

Thursday Evenings

Group dinner at one of Viterbo’s wonderful local restaurants—included in your investment.

Friday

Free for local exploration, client work, rest, day trips or whatever you need.

Throughout the Month

Curated Inspiration Expeditions that deepen the transformation—ancient ruins, hilltop villages, evocative medieval gardens and more. Transportation, hearty snacks and drinks included.

Evenings (apart from Thursdays)

Join others for aperitivo in a piazza or dinner at a local restaurant. Do client sessions or have a quiet evening in your apartment. Attend a live performance at the local Teatro dell’Unione. Your choice.

This is slow, immersive living. Not a checklist of tourist sites. Not a packed itinerary. Just a month to settle into a place, let it feed you and do meaningful work.

The PLACE transforms you. The STRUCTURE helps you finish. Together, they create an experience you’ll never forget.

Where You'll Live

You’ll stay in a spacious apartment in Viterbo’s historic center—the kind of place locals live, not where tourists stay.

Your Setup

A private bedroom in a shared apartment with one to two other participants. Most apartments have private bathrooms for each bedroom, though occasionally you might share with one other person. These aren’t cramped student flats—they’re elegant spaces with high ceilings, original details and the kind of charm that only comes from living in a medieval town.

What’s Included

Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, fast wifi (essential for Zoom sessions and client work) and everything you need to feel at home. Your apartment will be steps from cobblestone streets, local cafes and the medieval heart of Viterbo—close enough to the action, quiet enough to think.

The apartments are near each other (short walking distance), so you can easily connect with your cohort for spontaneous coffee or evening aperitivo, but still have your own space to retreat when you need it.

Want Total Privacy?

If you prefer your own apartment, we can arrange that for an additional $1,500.

This isn’t a hotel. You won’t have daily maid service or a concierge desk. But you will have a home base—a place where you can spread out your work, cook a simple meal if you want and settle into the rhythm of actually living somewhere for a month. The kind of place where, by Week 2, the woman at the corner cafe knows your cappuccino order.

You’ll stay in apartments like these below—spacious, well-appointed and right in the historic center.

How to Know If This Is for YOU

Finish Abroad is for you if:

☑️  You have a project that’s been waiting—a book, course, offer, creative work, website redesign—and you’re ready to finally finish it.

☑️  You’re at a crossroads and need clarity on what’s next (exploring that IS your project).

☑️  You’re excited about the idea of living in Italy for a full month—not just visiting.

☑️  You’re a solo business owner, creative or professional who can work remotely (even if you’ve never worked abroad before).

☑️  You can keep your business running as needed, while dedicating focused afternoons to finishing a meaningful project.

☑️  You value both structure AND freedom (clear scaffolding, not rigid schedules).

☑️  You’re open to community—giving and receiving support from peers who understand what you’re doing.

This probably isn’t the right fit if:

✖  You’re looking for a vacation with light work sprinkled in—Finish Abroad is immersive and intentionally focused on completing something meaningful.

✖  You prefer exclusively 1:1 coaching—while you do get private sessions with me in Finish Abroad, the richness comes from group masterminds, peer wisdom and community support.

✖  You need highly structured days with little flexibility, more like a group tour—in Finish Abroad, the afternoons are dedicated to deep work, but mornings and evenings are yours to design.

✖  You’re not ready to commit to the full month or dive deep into your project—Finish Abroad works because of sustained immersion.

What Past Travelers Say About Working with Me Abroad

Now I have a business I do from anywhere in the world

I am forever grateful for getting to experience our month in Spain! Your examples of what it could mean to work from anywhere in the world really spoke to me, and now I have a business that supports that goal.

Mary Gaul, Business Coach

Re-envisioned my entire business model

I was able to re-envision my entire business model and offers, while having an amazing and inspiring traveling experience in Spain. When do we go again?!

Marcia Donaldson, Bookkeeper & Financial Coach

An amazing group of entrepreneurs

Prague was head and shoulders above my expectations and being there with an amazing group of entrepreneurs to share it with made it even better. You brought together a diverse group of entrepreneurs that I thoroughly enjoyed meeting, sharing information with and learning from. It was an amazing experience I’ll never forget!

Sherri Coffelt, Business Coach & Consultant

I made some wonderful and close friendships

Thank you for doing your trips and allowing me to explore travel in such a wonderful and connecting way. They are some of my favorite memories. And I made some wonderful and close friendships because of these adventures.

Louise Crooks, Holistic Business Coach

Just the right mix

I loved everything about my trip. One surprise was how much I enjoyed hanging out with the other travelers because I’m more of an introvert. It was just the right mix, though, of being around people and being off by myself. I got a fair amount of writing done and then was able to take in the sights of Prague and live like a local. Highly recommended!

Donna Kozik, Book Writing & Publishing Coach

NOTE: Testimonials are from participants in past month-long international experiences I’ve organized and facilitated.

Finish Abroad evolves that model based on what participants asked for: more structure around business projects, expert review and feedback, and the accountability to actually complete something meaningful, inspired by place.

The warmth, community and transformative travel experience remains—now with the structure and support to finish that long-ignored project that would genuinely move your business forward.

A Month in Italy for Less Than Most Charge for a Week

Most week-long retreats charge $4,000-7,000.

For a single week.

Finish Abroad is 4 weeks—a full month of coaching and facilitation, in-person masterminds, curated expeditions, community and all accommodations included—for less than most retreats charge for 7 days.

Compare That to Other Retreats Being Offered in 2026

Costa Rica – wellness retreat (7 days) $8,197
Madrid – business growth retreat (8 days) $11,497
Bhutan – personal growth retreat (10 days) $9,797

Finish Abroad (28 days)

$5,997-$7,500

Here’s the Difference

Most retreats pack you into a week or less—sometimes moving you between locations every 2-3 nights, checking boxes on an itinerary, never truly letting you settle.

Finish Abroad Gives You…

A full month in one place. You’re not just visiting Viterbo—you’re living there. You establish rhythms, discover hidden corners, build relationships with locals. You have the spaciousness to actually finish something meaningful and the time to let the place work its quiet magic.

Secure Your Spot Now

Finish Abroad is intentionally small—just 10-12 participants.

Why? Because meaningful masterminds, real connections and the personal attention that makes finishing your project possible only happen in intimate groups.

When spots fill, they’re gone. And there won’t be another Finish Abroad in 2026.

Early bird pricing (saving $1,500) ends April 6, 2026.

Here's How It Works

#1 – Click “APPLY NOW” and fill out a short 5-question application.

#2 – Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis (you’ll hear back within 48-72 hours).

#3 – If accepted, you’ll receive a payment link and have 48 hours to pay your $600 deposit to reserve your spot.

#4 – Once your deposit is paid, you’ll receive your welcome packet and a link to schedule your 1:1 pre-trip project scoping session.

Refund Policy

Your $600 deposit is non-refundable once your spot is confirmed and paid, as we’re holding your spot and turning away other applicants. The remaining balance is fully refundable until 90 days before the trip (July 1, 2026), 50% refundable until 60 days before (August 1, 2026) and non-refundable thereafter.

Why This Is One of the Smartest Investments You Can Make

Write It Off as a Business Expense

Many participants invoice their business for the cost of such a retreat, treating it as professional development—similar to attending a conference or hiring a business coach.

Because Finish Abroad focuses on completing a business project with expert coaching and strategic guidance, it may qualify as a tax-deductible business expense. Consult your tax advisor to see if you can write off all or part of your investment.

This Is Asset Creation

A month in Viterbo isn’t a break from your business. It’s a strategic investment in creating something that generates value long after you return—amidst an experience that fills your creative tanks for exactly that project.

Finishing the book that becomes your authority piece and later, your signature offer. The marketing campaign for your course that creates recurring revenue. The offer that attracts better clients.

You build assets that serve you into the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

On Projects & Finishing…

Do I need to have my project fully defined before I apply?

No, just a general idea. We’ll do a pre-trip scoping call to clarify exactly what you’re finishing and make sure it fits a 4-week timeline.

What if I don't have a clear project when I apply?

That’s completely fine. If you’re at a crossroads—unsure what’s next, needing clarity, considering reinvention—we’ll use the pre-trip scoping call to design an exploratory process for the month. You might use AI tools to explore possibilities, experiment with different directions and leave with a clear plan.

What type of projects work best?

Books, courses, business offers, creative work, strategic plans, content batching, marketing campaigns—anything that can be completed (or significantly advanced) in 4 weeks with focused work.

What if I don't finish in 4 weeks?

We’ll scope your project in advance so that finishing is realistic. But if you need more time, you’ll leave with significant progress and the momentum to complete it after you return.

What happens if I get stuck or freeze during the month?

This is common and expected—hitting resistance is part of finishing. When someone stalls, I intervene quickly with a 1:1 troubleshooting session, a reframe in the mastermind or adjusting your project scope. The daily structure also prevents avoidance—you’re working alongside others, so there’s gentle accountability even when motivation dips. No one spirals alone.

On Business & Time…

How do I manage my business while I'm there?

Mornings are yours, and you can use them for essential business work if you wish. But because of the time difference (Italy is 6-9 hours ahead), your mornings happen while the US is still asleep—giving you uninterrupted time before your business day begins back home to explore your surroundings. Structured afternoon sessions (3-5 pm Monday-Wednesday) are exclusively for your finishing project. Most participants maintain their regular client load or scale back slightly if they prefer. Some batch their client calls on specific days to free up more exploration time on other days.

Will I have free time to explore?

Absolutely. Mornings, early afternoons and weekends are entirely yours—for exploring Viterbo, taking day trips, resting or managing business needs. Late afternoon (3-5 pm Monday-Wednesday) are structured deep work sessions and Thursdays are masterminds. Friday is free. You’ll have plenty of time to wander medieval streets, visit local markets or take the train to Rome. The beauty of a month-long experience is that you don’t have to choose between work and exploration—you have time for both.

On Support & Structure…

How much business coaching do I get?

You receive 4+ hours of private 1:1 coaching: a 60-90 minute pre-trip session, 2 flexible hours during the month and a 60-minute post-trip call. Plus, you get extensive support in a group setting: 2 pre-trip group calls, 4 weekly in-person masterminds (3 hours each), post-trip group integration call. And I’ll be around the whole trip, focused on you, so reach out when you need something beyond this. You’ll also benefit from the collective wisdom of experienced business owners and creatives in your cohort—often the most valuable insight comes from a peer who’s faced something similar.

What's the group size?

The trip is open to 10-12 people maximum. Small enough for deep connection, large enough for diverse perspectives.

I'm nervous about traveling with people I don't know.

Completely understandable. Everyone is vetted through an application process, so you’re with people serious about finishing meaningful work (not just vacationing). You’ll meet your cohort on pre-trip calls and I’ll pair you with a Finishing Buddy. The group stays small (10-12 max), so connections form naturally. Most participants say the community becomes one of the most valuable parts—and several have become lifelong friends and collaborators.

On Logistics…

How do I get to Viterbo?

All you have to arrange is to fly into Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) anytime on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Once you arrive, you’ll catch a shuttle to our designated airport hotel for Saturday night; your reservation will be under your name. On Sunday morning, October 4, we’ll transport everyone together from the hotel to Viterbo by private van. Both hotel and van are included in your investment. For departure, we’ll provide transport back to Fiumicino on Saturday, October 31, in time for afternoon/evening flights home.

What if I've never been to Italy / don't speak Italian?

Perfect! Most locals speak some English and I’ll be there to help navigate (I speak some Italian). I also have friends in Viterbo (including one who’s a professional translator!), so you’ll be in good hands throughout.

What's Viterbo like in October and what should I pack?

October in Viterbo is beautiful—mild temperatures (60-70°F / 15-21°C), occasional rain and fewer visitors than summer. Pack layers: light sweaters, a rain jacket, comfortable walking shoes (cobblestone streets!) and a mix of casual and slightly nicer clothes for group dinners. The vibe is relaxed, not fancy. You’ll get a detailed packing list after you’re accepted, including tech needs and specifics for our Inspiration Expeditions.

Can my partner/friend come?

If they’re also committed to finishing a project—or it’s a joint project—and go through the application process, yes! But this isn’t a couples’ vacation trip; everyone participates fully.

On Money…

What's the refund policy?

Deposits ($600) are non-refundable once you’re accepted, as we’re holding your spot and turning away other applicants. The remaining balance paid is fully refundable until 90 days before departure (July 1, 2026), 50% refundable until 60 days before (August 1, 2026) and non-refundable after that.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, strongly recommended. Our refund policy has specific cutoff dates, as detailed above, but travel insurance protects you in case of flight cancellations, medical emergencies or unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from attending. We recommend purchasing a comprehensive travel insurance policy that covers trip cancellation, medical expenses and travel delays.
